Michelle Obama Tried to Escape the White House to Celebrate the Legalization of Gay Marriage

So you talk about, in the book, also the night that gay marriage passed. And this is a great story. Yeah. One of the interesting things– I bring it up to talk about just how vastly different one day could be in the White House during our administration. And the day that Barack and I went to the funeral where he famously sang Amazing Grace. We were at that funeral, but we flew back. In that same day, marriage equality was passed. And– [CROWD CHEERING] that same day. And we’re in the White House. And when you’re in the residence, there’s so much bullet-proof glass that sometimes you don’t hear…

Land Rover Discovery 2015 review – Car Keys

The Land Rover Discovery is a modern day icon, with 1.1m sales under its belt since it first went on sale in 1989. The basic shape you see behind me was introduced in 2004, but underwent significant changes in 2009 to become the Discovery 4. Now just called Discovery, this rugged seven-seat off-roader rivals models like the Audi Q7 and Jeep Grand Cherokee and costs from just over £40,000. Inside the Discovery you’ll find a real blend of luxury and utility, with premium materials and stereo systems, but some hard plastics designed to take whatever mud and abuse is thrown at them. All the main controls have a chunky feel…

President Obama’s Anger Translator at White House Correspondent’s Dinner

I often joke about tensions between me and the press, but honestly, what they say doesn’t bother me. I understand we’ve got an adversarial system. I’m a mellow sort of guy. And that’s why I invited Luther, my anger translator, to join me here tonight. (Laughter and applause.) [LUTHER ENTERS] LUTHER: Hold on to your lily-white butts. (Laughter.) THE PRESIDENT: In our fast-changing world, traditions like the White House Correspondents’ Dinner are important. LUTHER: I mean, really, what is this dinner? (Laughter.) And why am I required to come to it? (Laughter.) Jeb Bush, do you really want to do this? (Laughter.) THE PRESIDENT: Because despite our differences, we count…

Toyota Land Cruiser (Prado) 2014 review – Carbuyer

This is the new Toyota Land Cruiser. Well it’s actually the old Toyota Land Cruiser that’s been give serious make over to make it more appealing to people who think an SUV is more about posing than off-roading. There are some subtle changes round the back like the new tail lamps. Up front the most obvious updates is the brash new shiny grille which looks like it has been inspired by the James Bond villain Jaws. There’s also some new headlamps while the whole front bumper has been mounted higher to prevent damage to the new face when off-roading. Inside Toyota has refreshed Land Cruiser’s dash as well. The button…

President Obama at the 2015 White House Correspondents’ Dinner

THE PRESIDENT: Good evening, everybody. Welcome to the White House Correspondents Dinner—the night when Washington celebrates itself. (Laughter.) Somebody’s got to do it. (Laughter.) And welcome to the fourth quarter of my presidency. (Laughter and applause.) It’s true—that was Michelle cheering. (Laughter.) The fact is, I feel more loose and relaxed than ever. Those Joe Biden shoulder massages, they’re like magic. (Laughter.) You should try one. Oh, you have. (Laughter.) I am determined to make the most of every moment I have left. After the midterm elections, my advisors asked me, “Mr. President, do you have a bucket list?” And I said, “Well, I have something that rhymes with bucket…
