Okay everybody I’m gonna do this as fast as I can and off-the-cuff. Answers about Matterport and the questions that I’ve been asked, basically in two parts. And one is a little bit about the technology, and two why is it not more popular? Or is it going to grow in popularity? First let me start this out with a joke. I heard this related between two brokers about 25 years ago when I was a mortgage banker. And one said to the other: Do you know how copper wire was invented? The other one said no The answer was two realtor’s fighting over a penny. They had stretched the penny. Well reality is this is a very expensive industry to be involved in. Things like Matterport systems, cameras, tripods, the clips, iPad pros can run into the thousands of dollars. If you’re new into the industry to try and come up with all of this money, and then the time to learn how to use it it’s something, that is acquired over a period of time. Matterport has done a lot to market to Realtors, but many of them don’t have the money to buy it. It would be my belief that in the near future what you’re going to see is marketing this directly to the public. Now Realtor.com it’s my understanding has started to give preference to those listings that are within the MLS system rr have a cross-referenced address to go to the top, if they have a Matterport if that word gets out to the public there’s going to be a larger demand for Matterport. Recently I went over to Yuma Arizona, and did a Matterport for my brother. The number of calls that I’ve got from Realtor’s over there wondering how this was achieved? (If) Well, it is phenomenal. Average cost of a Matterport? Most Matterport service providers around the nation charge about 10 cents per square foot and a setup fee. So for say 2,500 square foot home. You’re at about 350 to $425.00 to have it done. Now, there’s many benefits that come along with it ,small videos opportunities to promote it in social media It goes on and on with the things that can be done. Now Where do I think this will go in the future? I think that the public is going to start demanding this clearly? There’s a move towards video the next leap is going to be to Matterport. If I go out on a listing appointment I’m talking about Matterport video and address specific websites. I have the benefit of ownership of all of this equipment. and the knowledge to use it so for me to go out and do this for one of my listings. I’ll do it in any price range.
