How to increase Zillow estimate

Are you getting ready to put your home on
the market? Are you noticing your Zillow estimate is a
lot lower than you think it should be? Well stay tuned today I have some tips to
help you increase your zestimate. Hey guys welcome back to my channel, my name
is Sunni I am with NextHome Built By Referral Realty in Jacksonville NC. Today we are going to be covering how to increase
your Zillow estimate or your zestimate. Now keep in mind that about 95% of the time
the zillow estimate is incorrect. So let’s see how we can make sure the information
is correct for your zestimate. First we are going to go to, and
we are going to enter the address we are looking at. Then we are going to go to owner view and
scroll all the way to the bottom to review facts. It’s going to verify that you are the owner
so fill out the information to show that you are in fact the actual owner and click the
box and continue. The you are going to get a screen that looks
like this. You are going to want to go through and enter
all of the information and make sure that it is correct. I’ve heard this next part takes up to 30 days
to update. So I actually tried it on my own house. The square footage was off so I had to update
that, as well as I had to go in manually add the tile, wood floors and pantry that we had
added since we moved into the house. And I also had to add the appliances that
were missing such as the microwave and the dishwasher. I also went through and checked and unchecked
boxes for items that Zillow said that I had or didn’t have or maybe items that ZIllow
said that I didn’t have but I did actually have. Now moving down to the photo section, you
really don’t need to worry about that section because when you hire a Realtor they are going
to have a professional photographer come in to get the best views of your house. They will upload those to the MLS and it will
automatically update. So hit save changes. FOr the actual changes that I made for our
house through Zillow our zestimate actually jumped about $20,000 within that 30 day time
period. Now if your zestimate is actually higher than
what you are asking, point it out. Say “you know my zestimate is showing $205,000
and I am only asking $195,000”. This to the buyer makes them feel like they
are getting a good deal because the zestimate is showing higher than what the zestimate
is showing. So if you are getting ready to list your home,
make sure that you log into zillow and correct any of the information so that your zestimate
