Difference Between Realtor and Real Estate Agent / Hire Smart!

– Hello, everyone. Ady Simion, Coldwell Banker. Today, I want to talk to you about the difference between
being a Real Estate Agent and being a Realtor. Those two words seems to be confusing. Seems to be, a lot of people think are the same thing, but they’re not. Being a Real Estate Agent is simply a person that has a license
to sell Real Estate. They belong to a company,
could be Coldwell Banker, RE/MAX, Keller Williams,
whatever, or small brokerages. And they are Real Estate Agents. Now, do you know
what a Realtor is? A Realtor is a Real Estate
Agent that actually belongs to the National Association of Realtors and actually took a class
and a course for ethics. We are trained and we have a
diploma that we are ethical. This is how it looks. And every single, I
believe every four years, we have to go do that, take a class, and make sure what we do is ethical. So when you see someone that
has that R sign on their website, on their business card that means they are a Realtor. If they don’t, they’re
just a Real Estate Agent that belongs to a small firm
that just sells Real Estate, so they’re not ethically
verified and qualified. So that’s the difference between a Real Estate Agent and a Realtor. That Realtor logo is ours we pride ourselves to have
that on because we are ethical. We swear that we gonna be
ethical in everything we do in respect to a Real Estate transaction. We will be fair. We know all the rules
that shouldn’t be broken, and we do take care of our clients. I’m not saying that if
you’re not a Realtor, you’re not taking care of your clients. I’m sure you do, but it is an extra step to learn what is ethical to do
when you serve your clients. It’s an extra course, an extra class to teach you how to be an Ethical Realtor. That’s all I wanted
to talk to you about today. Coldwell Banker, Ady Simion. Thank you. Talk to you soon, bye.
