    Properties of Amides

Hey it’s Professor Dave, let’s talk about amides. We’ve looked at a few different carbonyl-containing functional groups and their derivatives, so let’s look at one more, the amide. As we recall, these consist of a carbonyl adjacent to a nitrogen atom, with the nitrogen bonded to two other groups, either hydrogen or alkyl in some combination. There is a lot to talk about with amides, both in the context of their synthesis, and their role in nature, so let’s start out by getting a more sophisticated understanding of this functional group and its properties. Let’s start out by looking at a very simple amide, dimethyl formamide, or DMF. This has…

A Conversation With David Friedman – part 4: Private vs Public Land Ownership

Private property is one of the central tenets of anarcho-capitalism. Here in Hong Kong, as we discussed earlier, the government owns all land. Yes. Could anarcho-capitalist society perhaps operate without private land ownership? Could land management be passed onto private agencies? That’s a little complicated. Private agency is usually private, so it would need private ownership. You could certainly imagine a system where most land belonged to firms, and they leased it rather than selling it. In existing capitalist societies after all, some people live in houses on land they own, and some people live in apartments on land that they rent. Some people live in houses on land they…

Math – Real Estate Taxes – Real Estate Exam Prep

Let’s tackle some problems involving real estate taxes. Let’s say a problem says a property with a market value of $240,000 had a tax assessment rate of 25 percent. What would be the assessed value? In this case the math problem gives us one percentage, so that tells me I will need to draw one T. I always like to put the percentage in first if possible because the percentage always goes in the bottom right in our T. So I’ll put 25 percent in the bottom right. The total market value is $240,000. That will be the whole amount and go in the bottom left. So our formula tells…

Ep. 5: The Typical Day Of A Real Estate Agent | What Do They Do At Work?

Welcome to our video blog. My name is Robert Rico, California Realty Training. Thanks for coming. So you want to know what a real estate agent actually does all day long? Well, let me tell you. The typical day is extremely, extremely atypical. For example, if you’re working with a seller, boy, there’s a lot of things you do with a seller. For example, when you’re working with a seller, first thing you want to do is get their motivation. Are they motivated to sell? If they’re motivated to sell, then what you do is you pay them a visit, and of course you come along with comps, comparables. With…

Real Estate Agents and Brokers Career Video

Whether they represent the people who want to buy property or those who have property to sell, real estate brokers and sales agents help clients find the property they’re looking for, and complete successful transactions. Most agents and brokers work with either homes or business properties. They show properties to customers, travel to see properties for sale, and meet with potential clients. They also present purchase offers, and manage negotiations between buyers and sellers. Agents and brokers invest a lot of time looking for clients, and for property to sell. Real estate sales agents must work for brokers, who are licensed and own their own businesses. Agents earn a commission…
